About James

James became a member of Bedic Lodge in January 2020, joining from Minerva Lodge following its closure. He now serves as Lodge Secretary, helping to keep Bedic’s administration, communications and records running smoothly.

He also represents the Lodge on the Benevolent Committee, contributing to the wider support offered to Brethren and their families.

Away from Freemasonry, James runs Frew Pain & Partners, a commercial property and lettings business specialising in industrial premises.

About Alan

Alan serves as Director of Ceremonies at Bedic Lodge, helping to maintain the confidence, dignity and high standards of its ceremonial work. His Masonic service has also been recognised with the Provincial rank of Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden.

An RAF veteran, Alan brings the experience, discipline and attention to detail developed during his service into his contribution to the Lodge.

Alan has a strong interest in local and Masonic history. He has contributed to presentations on Penshaw Monument, has experience conducting tours there for the National Trust and has also taken part in the delivery of a historical Royal Arch lecture.

Away from Freemasonry, Alan enjoys travelling and is particularly fond of going on cruises.

About Robbie

Robbie joined Bedic Lodge in 2015 and has previously served as Worshipful Master. He now supports the welfare of the Lodge and its members in his role as Almoner.

Away from Freemasonry, Robbie is Operations Manager of a wind turbine blade repair company based in Gateshead, overseeing specialist work within the renewable-energy industry.

Robbie is also a keen runner and the proud father of two young children. He particularly values the friendship, support and sense of belonging that membership of Bedic Lodge provides.

About John

John is the longest-standing member of Bedic Lodge and currently serves as Lodge Organist. His many years of service, experience and continuity make him an important link between generations of Bedic members.

His distinguished Masonic service has been recognised at both national and Provincial level. John holds the Grand rank of Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies under the United Grand Lodge of England and is also a Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden in the Province of Durham.

John is a knowledgeable and engaging speaker on Masonic ceremony and local history. His contributions at Bedic have included lectures exploring the Second Degree and the Masonic connections of Penshaw Monument, helping members and visitors understand the history and meaning behind the Craft.
