We enjoyed a great night hearing about the masonic museum, and also exploring the contents of a historical masons case dating back to the 1800’s!
W.Bro D.E.Crow, stood in and acted as Worshipful Master as W.Bro R.J.Woods was delayed travelling back from Edinburgh Airport! and also W.Bro J.E.F.Pain, acted as Inner Guard.
Bro T.Keers was duly Invested as Tyler for the ensuing year by the acting Worshipful Master, as he was not able to make it to our Installation meeting.
W.Bro A.S.Gettings, PPJGW, stood, presented and discussed to the Brethren about an old masonic briefcase he had received several years ago which contained various unusual items. W.Bro A.S.Gettings PPJGW, explained that the Provincial museum had assisted in the research of these items and had provided background correspondence.
The main items of particular interest were a letter from the owners widow dated January 1874, along with an Apron and various Jewels, dating from 1850’s.
W.Bro J.Y.Kelly presented a brief but detailed summary of his personal involvement within the Provincial museum. The presentation centred on the various activities on a day to day basis which included answering general enquiries, researching family links with Masonic relatives, investigating old Lodges within the Province and attending to the vast number of unique masonic items within the museum.
Bro M.Nanson informed the Brethren of the proposed upcoming social events, in particular our Ladies Night on the 11th October, a proposed visit to the Provincial Museum, and a trip to Grand Lodge. Bro M.Nanson mentioned it was an open invitation to all Brethren, not just members of Bedic Lodge, should any other Brother wish to attend.
The Lodge was closed in love and harmony at 7.45pm.
