Bedic W.M. walks Yorkshire 3 Peaks for Charity ManHealth.

Our W.M. Robbie Woods walked the Yorkshire 3 peaks to raise sponsorship for men’s mental health charity, ManHealth. Below you can read about his walk and the great charity he raised funds for.

Thankyou for all the sponsorship so far!

Men’s mental health has played a large part in my life recently after losing some close friends and others having a hard time through life. I decided to set up a walk with friends and colleagues from work in order to raise awareness of mental health and to get people to talk through their experiences in order to share problems.

At my installation as W.M. to Bedic lodge 5915 on the 24th April a collection was made for charity and the members of the lodge donated generously. I selected the charity ManHealth to donate the funds that we raised on the night. A number of the Brethren also donated individually to the cause by sponsoring my walk, and I thank them all for their generous contributions.

About the Yorkshire 3 peaks walk

The Yorkshire Three Peaks walk is a challenging circular hike in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, covering approximately 40 km and encompassing the peaks of peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres.) Known for its stunning landscapes, diverse terrain, and panoramic views, this trek offers a taste of the region’s natural beauty and geological features. Hikers typically aim to complete the route within 12 hours, navigating steep ascents, rocky paths, and rolling hills, but as you can see below, our fit W.M. managed to complete the walk in under 7 hours 30 minutes. The walk is a popular endeavor for outdoor enthusiasts and charity fundraisers, celebrated for its physical demands and the sense of achievement it imparts upon completion.

All done! What a day!

We arrived at Horton-in-Ribblesdale at 6.45am for registration. When we arrived our Tour Guide gave us a thorough briefing in preparation for our experience. It was a long day, and there’s a few blisters and stiff legs today but it was worth it.

Thank you once again to everyone who donated towards this fantastic charity and enabling the great work they do to help men experiencing challenges in their lives.
I would also like to thank SaferAtWork for hiring the minibus and fuelling it up for us.

It was an amazing adventure and we will continue to support ManHealth by raising funds to help them continue to support those in need, and their life saving work.

All ready to go – 41km ahead of us!
At the peak of Inglebrough – Weather was perfect for it too
